Evergreen Nursery & Ram Gauri Sangrahalaya is a privately owned nursery which was established in the year 1970. This exotic nursery is renowned for its huge collection of ethnographic objects like, different type of driftwood, artistic stones, old documents, rare manuscript, coins, philately stamps and horticultural plants. In this sangrahalaya, one can also find Sanskrit documents which probably date back to the 18th century. The Museum has a large volume of documents related to the political development of the former Himalayan Kingdom of Sikkim. It has a collection of various tax receipts paid by the Sikkimese peasantry to their feudal lords in the pre-merger period, banks receipt issued by Bhojraj and Jethmul Bank (the first bank of Sikkim), the entire volume of Kanchenjunga (the first news-based journal of Sikkim), all issues of the Sikkim Herald(the state's first government-run newspaper which started publishing in 1957) various antiques like telegram machines, gramophones, antique locks and keys, utensils, radios, and clocks. The place has now turned into a tourist hotspot attracting many visitor from across the globe. This nursery cum museum is only around 30 minutes' drive from our homestay.
